UNICEF used a virtual tour to introduce an important project

It was PIO, a humanitarian program for early childhood on the Colombian-Venezuelan border. Perspektiva 360 was behind the development

A virtual tour developed by Perspektiva 360 was the tool that starred in the socialization of the PIO project. This is a UNICEF initiative in Colombia for the care of early childhood, pregnant women and nursing mothers in the context of the migration emergency. The presentation showed PIO advances in 3 departments bordering Venezuela. The invitation was sent by UNICEF Colombia to its network of donors in the country to virtually tour the PIO points and the routes of the “Chiquivan“, main components of the project. Its name corresponds to the acronym Puntos de Información y Orientación (information and guidance points), part of the strategy Espacios y Rutas Amigables para la Primera Infancia (spaces and routes friendly to early childhood) developed by UNICEF in Colombia. PIO provides pedagogical privileges, psychosocial care and humanitarian aid in general for children under 6 years of age. The project mainly serves Colombian families and migrants in vulnerable conditions. So far, PIO has been developed in the departments of Arauca, Santander and North of Santander with fixed and itinerant installations.   Virtual tour of PIO, UNICEF. CAS de Berlín, Santander.

A virtual tour of UNICEF’s projects on the Colombian border

The PIO presentation was made virtually for the UNICEF donor network at the national level and was in charge of Magaly Ortiz, emergency coordinator, and Cesar Luna, early childhood consultant for this agency. Hosts made use of a virtual tour that Perspektiva 360’s web experience team developed especially for the project. The tour includes a series of 360 photographs, both aerial and terrestrial, outdoors and indoors, which were taken by the team of photographers of Perspektiva 360 in 8 of the fixed spaces and 5 of the itinerant ones that the “Chiquivan” travels. The variety of 360 photos allowed to give an idea of what the PIO spaces are like and provide closeness to the participants. Many images show UNICEF staff in their work. During the presentation, UNICEF members used the interactive hotspots, such as the “magic mat”, included in the 360 photographs. And it is that this tour contains dozens of these points or hotspots that display texts, photographs and videos that tell the story of the project in small doses. Luna said: “When you explore our tool, you will find photographs and videos that will speak for themselves“. Another attraction of PIO’s virtual tour is its main menu. At the beginning of the tour, the user can see an interactive map of Colombia in a personalized interface with the designs and colors of the project. It highlights only the departments of: North of Santander, Santander and Arauca, which helps to communicate the scope of PIO to the public.   Another attraction of PIO’s virtual tour is its main menu. More than 80 people from the donor network were connected during socialization. At the end of the presentation, the web link was shared with the participants so that they could explore the route themselves. According to UNICEF Colombia data, to date, more than 29,000 people have participated in the PIO project and more than 9,000 children have benefited from the program. At Perspektiva 360 we are proud to be part of the organizations that contribute to a dignified life for all, especially the little ones.
